My favorite is central air. If I could only keep one that would be the one. I would go back to out houses before I would give up air. hahaa Last night using the oil lamps and tv off didnt bother me one bit.

We had a toilet. Two holer

werent those funny? 2 people could use it at the same time but I never knew anyone who did.

She would take 2 sticks and hold them loosely in her hands straight out in front of her and when they crossed each other that was where the water was. Was it like that for you?

Yup. Those sticks moved like crazy! My best spot was too near the seasonal creek, but the well driller assured me it would have been a good spot otherwise. I was 7 or so.

For me, toilet is more important than a bath! Every winter we had power outages, so I had my share of hauling water from the creek. Good thing it only went out in the winter. Creek was dry in summer.

I have only lived in one house that had ac. A rental when I was teaching and only for about a year. We never ran it... too expensive.

85⁰ in your humidity is much worse than 100⁰ in our dry air.
