Met with bubba's teacher today. Glowing reports! I brought her this gift of eggs.

Did you take the kids out of school for a week? Or were they on vacation?

My daughter won't let me take my GD out of school so she can travel with me.

DH talked to both teachers well in advance and got it cleared with them. BUT it ended up being Mardi Gras break, so they only missed Thursday and Friday. I'm going to finish getting everything displayed and then take it for bubba's class to see.

That's such a shame. I believe that education is extremely important, but I also believe that it can't all be in the classroom. Kids learn better getting their hands dirty in the sunshine.

Have an 8 mo old EE hen who has gone broody in nest box that is 4+ feet off ground. I put 5 more eggs under her-2 Polish,2 legbars,2BR. Have never had hen hatch any eggs. We ll see how this goes. Still getting 16+eggs/day. 32* this am. Went to co-op for 50lb layer pellets=$8.95. Fed them corn yesterday & they didn t eat much of it.
