Ah, yes. Thats something else to work on. Thanks for the ideas.Looks like they have lots of choices. They prefer to roost up high. Instincts tell them it's safer. The rounded bar is probably too small for comfort. There are lots of ideas on byc for roosting set ups... you can look how others have done it.
Here are my older hens in their coop. They can easily hop up from roost to roost. Dominant hens get the prime spots at the top. There is an upturned pot just below Spike (black hen) as the last step to the floor.

They all take the high roost!
