I was saying the same thing to Tom yesterday. He made me some hot pudding. First time in 10 years. He used to make it for me often. Both of us are losing it. Him more then me of course.

Looks like they have lots of choices. They prefer to roost up high. Instincts tell them it's safer. The rounded bar is probably too small for comfort. There are lots of ideas on byc for roosting set ups... you can look how others have done it.

Here are my older hens in their coop. They can easily hop up from roost to roost. Dominant hens get the prime spots at the top. There is an upturned pot just below Spike (black hen) as the last step to the floor.
