Evening there I said I would be back.

What a (*&@$)(@$&O@(*$)@(*$)(@*& type of day. Some one unplugged the heater (big sign on wall DO NOT unplug the heater) in the ice and pop room and parts at least of the ice machine froze up and was still spewing water. Look like the ice machine was being eaten by a glacier. Shut the farking door which was also left open plugged in to heaters and will deal with it in the am.

Also have a toilet that supposedly is oozing water out the bottom when a person flushes ? According to Angie BUT I know how bad her descriptions are and since it is still out tonight when check that out as well in the am.

Rod's son totaled his truck on his first day of work on the on ramp of the interstate this evening.

SO AN A+ type of day for all.

Congrats on the 2 chicks Granny that a 100% success over the last hatch.

Poor Twist.

We all have these kind of days.

I went to my chicken lady friend's house yesterday.
She had called and wanted me to come check on one of her newest chicks that she didn't think was feeling well.

I about died when i walked into the room with the "brooders".

She has a room heater set to 80 blowing into the room...I guess I would have been ok with just this heater going, maybe but....

She uses plastic totes with the lids on, (What??) as a brooder....two round holes on the lid...one for air (i guess) and one for a 100 watt light bulb to hang down through!!!

I about pooped my pants...
I am by all means not an expert but it was WAY too hot in there.

I MADE her get rid of the lights.
Remember it's hot here....hot enough to where these 4 week old chicks should be outside and not in a itty bitty tote still.

She thought they still need to be kept at 100 degrees..poo yi..I told her she is lucky they are still alive.
I was spoon feeding the ill one water..she couldn't believe it was drinking so much.
Poor girl was too hot and thirsty!

You start at 95 degrees and you drop it 5 degrees a week
Did they not have any water?

My chicks are good they are going on two week this Friday. I can't put them out yet. Plus I have two barn cats this year that would look a chicken nugget. They have been catching baby rabbits.

My chicks were in a brooder in the garage. They stayed in there a little extra longer because my coop wasn't finished

‍ But they were July babies so at 4 weeks I turned the lamp off during the day but had it on of the nights. They were fine at 6 weeks when they were in the coop.

Yep. It was with 6-7 full sized eggs.

4 babies . thats all I am expecting. 2 did internal pips and drown today, thats the 7 and one maybe I candled. so 4 alive, 14 dead. Way to go granny ! candled the other 8 . there are some alive but air cell is day 7, they are day 18. I expect them to drown as well. I will give them their chance then this thing is out of here .
i got one chick with tolbunt colors and because I know there wasnt a tolbunt egg in there I will assume I have a candy corn which is kinda cool.
