Granny's gone and done it again

I need some advice, Grannyland. I spilled hot wax all over one of my good (expensive!) stainless steel pans. I'm scraping it with a wooden spoon but it's not all coming off. Ideas?
Can't you just...melt it off? Wax melts at 145 degrees F, says google.
 
This wooden spoon is doing a fair job but it's leaving some residue. I think a good scrub with Bartender's friend might finish it off.

Thanks, Cherry, I'll consider that. I'm afraid the heat might discolor the pan though.
