Granny's gone and done it again

Me too @CapricornFarm. It's only 22 degrees here today. Not exactly good rock hounding weather.

@Cynthia12 they have found some nice crystals there! I can look at the ground and WHOW! is all I can say.

We don't have a lot of green rocks here either. Lots of granite, quartz and chert though in this area. It was once a large salt water sea here so there are lots of fossils in the limestone. Also a lot of citrine in parts of the state. One of my favorite crystals is a large piece of orange citrine that I bought in KC at a shop at the Crown Center. I want DH to make an LED pedestal for me to set it on so I can make it into a night light.

I designed it and had Gene make it. Basically a wooden box frame with gliders on the drawer and inside the box. Then we skinned the box with wood toned left over peg board.
? I need a pic.

Chert is a sedimentary rock that the Native Americans used to knap down into arrow heads, spear heads and the like.

Here they use it for driveways and the like. I can find pieces of it in our drive that have edges sharp enough to cut.

Learning to knap is on my learn how to do it list.
