Granny's gone and done it again

1. Explain pig shift.

2. You were ATTACKED BY A SOW?!? Are you okay??? You have to tell the rest of THIS story! How? Where? Under what circumstances? How did you survive? Details, woman, we want DETAILS!!! :barnie
1.) Basically a 30 minute to an hour long shift that involves checking pigs, cleaning stalls, checking waterers, checking each piglet/shoat, etc. We have morning shifts, every Monday and Wednesday.

2.) Yes, I totally understand the confusion. I was shocked too! They are HUGE animals, beasts even! On Monday, someone fed the sows for me, so they were not distracted when I went in to clean their stalls. One of the Durocs ended up chasing me and trying to "headbutt" me. I barely made it out of that pen, it had my heart racing!!

And of course, I wasn't gonna come to Wednesday's shift without preparing myself to see some aggression. It was the York this time. She got me pretty good. Ugh that old sow, definitely one of my least favorites... I wonder why they are showing such sudden aggression.

Believe me granny, that doesn’t mean anything lol.

Aww what a sweetheart!!!!

Well. Hubs is having teeth troubles again. Not sure if I’m driving him down since the dentist is the same town as where I work or if he’s driving himself down - but he’s set to go in to see them tomorrow am. Sigh. Timing. I didn’t call the dirt place today anyway to see about doing half yards but if he’s carpooling with me it’s not going to happen anyway. Next week maybe. Whee.

Gives me time to further plot my planters at least. Got some cheapie planting bags from amazon that showed up. Well, you get what you pay for that’s for sure and this was cheap. We’ll see how they do.

Still gotta measure wheels on my garden wagon and order new ones, plot that out a bit and work that magic.

Have our friend I think grumpy with me. They were planning the desert trip this weekend. Told him between hubs’s mouth, hubs not having a truck, price of fuel, it likely wasn’t going to happen. So I think he’s now super grumped with me but honestly. Shut the front door. Sure that’s two d trips in a row we’ve missed but the first one was the direct weekend after we moved the mil, and this one….well…allow me to gesture wildly at All The Things right now.
It's okay, Star. If they're really friends, they'll understand. ❤

Protective of their piggies! CAREFUL! They can tear yor leg off, no joke!

Falling asleep .

Protective of their piggies!
That's what confuses me. Their piggies have been weaned...for months now. In fact, ALL the piggies have been sold already. The piggie pens are quite empty, like a ghost town. I forgot if I mentioned that I take care of sows, but I am in charge of the old sows, no piggies or gilts in my section.

Oh yes, definitely. My 4H leader warns us about possible scars and injuries that swine can cause, despite being domesticated.
Falling asleep .

Good night Blue.
