Drums teaches rhythm, certainly. But if you want to learn to read music, piano is best IMO. Oonce you learn piano I believe it is easier to learn any other instrument. On piano you don't have to learn fingering or breath control, as with a wind instrument. You don't have to develop calluses or learn finger positions as with a stringed instrument. All the notes, or keys of the octave look alike across the keyboard. They stay put and are easy to find. All you have to do is hit them. It's like chess, takes a short time to learn, a lifetime to master.Piano? Really? I would say one of the easiest would be drums.

Well of course there is, otherwise how would you know when to hit the snare and when to use the top hat? My brother used to play. He taught me how to hold the sticks, he used the left palm up method but I see a lot of people don't do it that way any more. They break a lot of sticks though.Never thought about it that way, thanks!
But technically, there is drum sheet music![]()
Break? I had the same ones for 8-9 years, still intactWell of course there is, otherwise how would you know when to hit the snare and when to use the top hat? My brother used to play.
