I was pretty busy! I did 3 day worth of math homework, studied lines for Drama, and practiced my dance for cheer! Among other, smaller things of course! Today while Dad was farming a swarm of honeybees landed on his truck. So he had to go at dark, and run, and jump in the truck while they were sleeping. Then he drove on the highway and finally figured out they were is a hole in the bed of the truck. That is where they still are.

Wowzers! Is he going to try to keep them? Did he get stung at all?

It’s that time of year alright….

Well guys…I tried and now I can confidently say I HATE it!

BUT, I have not given up yet. I will try to add some shadows with a black pen to see if that can make it more appealing.

I think it’s pretty.

I really love pens. Mostly cause it’s so clean. No smudging, no eraser dust, no sharpening pencils, and most of all, pens are so cheap and widely available.

Could be the medium giving you trouble. Your rose is pretty but just needs a different technique to look good in your minds eye if using pens?

I dunno. Flower pretty.

Now I should sleep. Got the chicken coop garden bed planted. Yay.

Well. Guess I missed you all tonight.

I ended up adding on to the flower. I still don’t really like it, but there’s still more to do. Perhaps I will redo it one day. But for now…goodnight all!

Rats! I tried to post both versions of the rose in the same post for comparison purposes but I couldn't do it. I'm going to bed. Good night, all.

And I think now what it needs is a little texture, rather than ink strokes. If you get what I mean. Bring the strokes out to the edges of the petals, like veins. Rose petals feel like human skin. Soft, like a woman's cheek. The texture you have right now is hard, like ink on paper. Do you see what I mean? It should be velvety. You can do velvet, like on the tiger. Only not as dense.
