Granny's gone and done it again

I'll go check him in a couple hours. I can pick a bit more from around his head, but finding veins made me nervous.

There will still be veins that are red.  But it didnt bleed when you broke one . Thats the main thing.  I could be way off for sure but from past experince they wont hatch like that.

It oozed a bit. :/ enough that I didn't want to break more.

Camp, ask on Sallys . I have found they wont finish that hatch unless the head and neck are cleared . Not sure Im saying it right. take the shell away from the head.  It dont look like a mal po to me and as far as I can tell is ready.   Once you start a hatch you need to finish and he cant free his head unless broody does it.

Did you wrap the egg in a wet paper towel? The part that still has shell? When Ive had one like that I would wrap the shell in a warm wet paper towel. They hatched when they were ready. Looks like that chick got too big for her space, couldn't move enough to get the job done. My broody lost one like that a month ago. It was pipped internally but couldn't reached the shell to pip externally, it died in the shell

I wet the membrane and put it back. Outside humidity is 84%.

I miss my GM . She was the strongest woman I knew.
Mine too, lived through the worst of times. Didn't have a pot to pizz in or a window to throw it out, but if you needed something she would magically come up with it. She had RA so bad, but was determined that even though she couldn't walk all the way to the garden she would use a golf cart my aunt & uncle gave her to get out there. Then crawl on the ground to plant it. Would do the same to pick it. Her, my uncle & her gs's depended on the canned veggies to make it through the year. She taught me so much, she has always been my hero

Thats sad. People shouldnt have to live like that.

It was sad to see how much physical pain she endured each day, but I never heard that woman complain. The 6 months my mom & I went back & forth downstate to take care of her after her stroke she never said boo about pain. And she was in lots. Would scare me to death when Ol Arthur would settle in her lungs on a rainy wet day. It would make it difficult for her to even breath. Watched her many times as a child knead bread dough with her wrist because her hands were so swollen & painful that she couldn't use them. My mother took right after her. 2 of the most amazing woman in my life. If I could be anyone else, it would be one of them.
