WE did manage to get Sunny and her little down in the south tit. Pretty sure her little is another heifer which makes 3 girls in a row from her.

Granola's little got an ear tag as there are 2 solids out there. Its a bull.

Got the DNA sample off of Tibbits, he was NOT amused but accepted it like a good boy.

SO first the "issue" bad news part one of the day. Found a dead royal calf, if must have been born over the weekend. Was totally licked/cleaned off. The front 1/2 of the calf seemed "normal sized" BUT the back half was very small. Also by the time we found it the tail and rectal area were GONE as in you could see spine. I suspect that momma started nipping/biting it to make the calf get up. Turned out it was Maiah's. SO she got and antibotic and help dry off shot PLUS the vitamin and copper shot. If was a female too.

I asked about the eating on FB Yak 101 thread waiting to here back on the "cannibalism" part.

pretty sure that the malformation or failure to thrive was the issue.

SO the vet ended up actually pg-ing the 9 remaining cows. And the only one I really really really wanted to be pg is open. But, since we all LOVE Twisty she is getting a pass.

Depending on how you look at it. 13 of the 14 "adults have or will calve this year. BUT at best there are only going to be 12 calves come fall.

Good old Comet is expecting yet again. that's 7 in a row at my place.

Hailey her daughter born 2016 and started with and UNplanned preggers in 2018 has NOT missed a year either.
