What has Goose been sticking his nose into? 🤣
He’s such a brown noser! But I gave him a cow ear so he’d leave me alone a bit while I was doing payroll (poor guy he’s been pretty neglected this week) and so he took it outside and buried it. He unearthed it and ate it after dinner the weirdo.

A specimen of Xylaria polymorpha, commonly known as Dead man’s fingers
😮

Dead man’s fingers, is a saprobic fungus which consumes the polysaccharides in timber, leaving behind soft, nutrient-rich debris on which many invertebrates feed. It is fairly common in the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and parts of North America.
How cool. Isn’t Mother Nature great!
