It's not just the sound, it's the whole noisy cluster coming after them, unexpectedly. It's the whole experience. Shrug. But you know your dogs better thsn I do.

Pi doesn't like loud noises. He reacts if I raise my voice or clap loudly. Cans falling on the floor would make a big impression, especially while he is still young.

I won't advise one way or the other on the driving of the van. That would be foolish of me. What did your sil say?

You can scale it down if need be, just use a single can with beans in it if you think it would be too traumatic, but IME better to make a profound experience the first time.

I need to set Sammy up, he almost got my sandwich off an end table last week but I yelled at him. It was the first time he tried but I should have seen it coming, that nose of his is bound to get him in trouble eventually. He's a sniffer!
