they came to grind up all my trees today. It made Robert mad because I wouldnt go up there with him to tell them off for cutting down a tree they shouldnt have. I have not had a good day.

Did he tell them off? Good for him, if he thought it should be done. I don't understand why people get mad at other people for doing or not doing something. We can't and shouldn't control other people. Don't children learn that early? "You're not the boss of me!" Seems we forget that as we grow older, somehow.

Maybe you could write a polite letter to the company explaining that they removed a tree you'd asked them not to because it was a commemorative tree and ask if they'd be kind enough to replace it.

I called them 2 days ago and was told the boss would contact me. Still waiting. After today I dont really care.

It's okay. He's going to have to realize it's time for him to step up. And you didn't  make him mad. That's totally on him. Have him deal with it.
