Granny's gone and done it again

I cut up 2 pieces of bacon and fry them up crisp. Remove most of the grease (all but 1-2 tsp) fry some onion for a couple mins then add a LOT of cabbage, little salt, and cook away.
Yum. Eat it while hot!

Because bacon is DELICIOUS, while pork chops are just meh. Also, bacon takes a lot of processing, especially if naturally smoked.

(Don't blame Charlie Brown. We know who is really responsible.)

Way before the recession, I went out and bought tons of bacon. CA had a new law saying no pork products could be sold here that didn't follow CA humane guidelines. I figured we weren't going to have any reasonably priced bacon here for quite awhile. Family thought I was crazy.

Ha! Laugh's on them. Still have a healthy store of bacon in the freezer, all purchased around $3/lb. Going to last a long while.
I remember you talking about buying up some bacon. Nice!
Cabbage sounds so good. Making me hungry. Last time I made fried cabbage it was tough and bitter.

I think SD said it was the wheel bearing on her car. Said it had to be pressed in and if it fails her tire could come off while she was driving. Its gonna cost them $400. to get it fixed and hopefully they can get it done this week and come down this coming weekend.
Thankfully it wasn't worse.

California is crazy and a lot of the country is following their example.

It's such a beautiful place though. Hopefully the pendulum will swing and we can find some sort of balance.

That's true but the processing is the same now as before this price increase so I don't see why the price variance suddenly between the two.

part of it is gas. the delivery charges. I think the rest is greed.

Maybe has more to do with market prices. People will pay more for bacon because they like it. Greed? Maybe. It's a business that supports many more people than those who sell the end product. If no one is willing to pay the high cost, then prices will come down.

That's just it. The American people will pay exhobatant amounts to get what they want. Just foolish in my mind. Wait them out and the prices will come down as you said.
