I don't know about snow (we are south of you by a good bit), but are expecting wind chills in the -25°F range Thursday - Friday. We are letting the fire go out so we can clean the ashes out of the fireplace insert (which I usually call the "wood stove") so we can start a fresh fire by then. We're gonna need it! Plenty of food here. I can't speak as to blizzards, but this area had a huge ice storm in the winter of 2008-'09, the year before I moved here. Brrrr! (I'm from New Mexicoooooo! We are in the southern part of the storm coming in. I don't think they are sure yet what is going to happen here. One service says 3-5 inches but NOAA isn't committing yet which makes me nervous.
They are calling for high winds and dangerous low temps and wind chills on it's heels. I hope we don't have a blizzard. I think I read where the last blizzard that hit Missouri was in 1928. So I guess we are over due.
It would be nice to have a white Christmas though. Tomorrow I'm going to batten down the coop and we are going to bring in firewood and stack it in the shop where we can get to it easily. DH put chains on the front wheels of the tractor and the pantry is stocked full as is the freezer.
Bringer on Mother nature. We are ready.
Not cooked right.and like biting into a flour lump/pocket/dry mine in gravy. It's totally a texture thing for me.
Neither rain nor snow nor gloom of night ...GOOD LORD UPS just dropped off some packages almost 10 pm here.
And you can refrigerate her right outside!there is a conspiracy between Sunny, Ma Nature and old man winter. BUT maybe next week. Supposed to be pushing low 30's above.
well tis time to stoke my inner furnace. Think I will nuke the last of the meatloaf and baked tater with a nice glass of milk.
I wish you all a Good Night, Sweet Dreams, WARM fuzzies and prayers.
