Granny's gone and done it again

GirlChild spent last night and all day today with her bf, and again tonight, so we had Christmas without her. Grandpa (aka DH, The Man), got The Kid a drone with a camera, he loved it! Too cold to spend much time outside with it, but he figured it out, flew it and landed it okay.

My rib roast turned out pretty good, just a bit overcooked but still yummy. I was in the shower when the alert went off so I didn't get it out right away. Cooked potatoes, carrots and onions in the roaster too, all delicious, and served the meat with with au jus from the bottom of the roaster. I'll never cook a roast in the oven again, I don't think, that electric roaster was easy and did a great job.
You had what I made, only in the crockpot. Same things..pluses the juice in the bottom.

Looks like a Norman Rockwell painting.
Greg Olsen is the artist. His work is beautiful. :) This is it.

Well blessedly I have today off in lieu of Christmas. (Blessings and a curse - means tomorrow is going to be a loooooong day)

Gonna attempt my walk to the coffee place today - goose NEEDS a good walk! Also gotta muck out the chicken coop and prep it for the rain this week (Oi!) and do some work getting my office space presentable again (ended up tossing a bunch of stuff in there to get it out of the way for dinner last night)

Dinner turned out ok - bone in roast turned out nice and tender though I think I’ll have to set the temp a bit higher for next time…maple glazed sweet potatoes and maple glazed carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy and our guest did some broccoli based greens.

Now I’m debating getting up but I have a snuggly goose on me. Oops.

Morning, sugar hangover here. Need to do a road trip today. Down to Harris Ranch to exchange a dog for a dog, long story. The owner lives in Carlsbad. Somewhat half way. Great place to eat and run the dogs.

Did you see the price of their meats? Wow!

Well, Christmas 2022 is one for the books. We had a nice day. The temp actually got up to 17 so we took a feed bucket full of corn back and dumped it for the wildlife to enjoy. It was nice getting out in the cold but fresh air and taking a walk in the snow covered forest with my sweetie and two of our dogs.

This was a nice Christmas. Hope Santa was good to y'all.

Now on to New Years!
