I have had a heart calcium test. They check my heart for calcium deposits. I am thinking that would show if have any blockage.Yes, I got dealt a pretty good hand, gene wise. I have a confession though, I did have a problem last November... pretty serious heart attack. Went to the ER in the morning, got tests, sent to San Francisco for angiography that afternoon, where they found a 90% blockage in the biggest artery and put in a stent. I was back home the next day. Little more than 24 hr ordeal. All the other arteries are clear and I don't have high cholesterol or any other problems. Just have to take some meds for a year, and blood thinners forever. I won't see the cardiologist for a year. He said my problem is fixed, I'm otherwise healthy and can go another 30 yrs.
I wonder why a burb would help? I have had extreme stomach pain the is relieved by a burb or passing gas. I can also take a peppermint oil capsule And that will relieve it.I had symptoms off and on for a couple months before. Occasional mild chest pressure, then I'd burp and it would go away. Also, occasional shortness of breath walking uphill, a bit of numbness on the side of my left hand that would come and go. All relieved immediately with a burp. So I thought it was indigestion... until the actual heart attack in mid Nov. Hurt like crazy. I had a minor one on Halloween too, after doing all my decorating, but it went away quick with the burps, so in my mind I had indigestion.
If you ever have weird symptoms like that, don't wait. Go get checked out.
It comes and goes. I try to walk a mile or 2 every day, but the rain got me out of the habit. Pi needs walking, so that helps.Hows your energy levels now? Are you back to normal or get tired easy?
Excellently geeky.
I think 30 yrs because they asked about family history. My dad will be 90 in a few months. Guess they figured I have a chance of getting there too.I don't recall you telling us about that and another 30 years. Wow.
Yes, that's done with x-rays, I think. The plaques have a lot of calcium in them, so will show on an xray or maybe flouroscope. Much easier than the catheter up your arm to release the dye.I have had a heart calcium test. They check my heart for calcium deposits. I am thinking that would show if have any blockage.
