Yes, I prefer dark meat too. Higher in fat, better flavor and texture, doesn't dry out. I have a few good recipes that call for white meat - which DH prefers.

You can also tell the 4 males by the dark red wing patches coming in and the fatter, lumpier combs.

Our company is here now. SIL had to go to the ER again about her heart. She looks pitiful. I brought 2 baby goats down to get petted. She can't walk as far as the barn!

It's true. Not many are cute. I've had a couple of newborn grandchildren that were cute. See if I can find one that was cute. Not right after birth though.

Yeah, birthing is hard on baby as well as on mom. My son was violet at birth, I almost lost him. The cord was around his neck. I guess moms think their babies are beautiful no matter what though. You're just so happy they're alive and that labor and pregnancy is over.
