How are your chickens?

No problems so far. We have a sandy spot under a huge oak that they like. Hubs built a frame for some metal roofing handed down by a neighbor, so the sand pit is really well shaded. I water the sand in the morning to help keep it cool. Peach and Monkey, my two 11 yr olds, stayed in the sand all afternoon. No panting at all, thank goodness.

Should I put ice in it or will that shock her system.

I think the fan idea is best after they get a dip. That's how I cool off!

Sorry about your truck, Cap. Just wasn't meant for you to make it to that swap I guess. All started last night when your battery went dead.

Had a thunderstorm here today and as usual lightning was snapping and popping all around. Knocked out my electric for about 4 hours. I have an aluminum extension ladder laying flat against the house. Maybe that's what is attracting lightning here so bad. Might should move it.

Our forecast storm failed to materialize. Maybe one tomorrow. We really need some rain on the grass the chickens graze on.

all human meds. Did the vet up them? When is she getting her teeth pulled?

This Friday. Teeth cleaning. They went ahead and put down 4 from the looks of them. She'll pretty much be toothless. Soft dog food from now on I guess. Gee..you should hear all the fireworks. My Cooper dies not like them. Gave him a melatonin.

No summer rain here and the green is already gone. We grow kale for the hens. They really like it.

Jenny's doing good here, too. She's still a little spooky. But today I took her outside, not on leash, and walked around the house with her, and she walked beside me almost the whole way in perfect Heel position. Except once, to go pee. I just have a problem with her name ...
