Howdys all, Rough day and night. Looks like I poisoned Tom and myself with the chicken noodle I made. He got the worst of it because he ate more then I did but its coming out both ends. I have been up with him since 4am. He has finally settled down some.

Geez Granny... did you forget to rinse the eye of newt and toe of frog out of your cauldron?

I have a friend over in the Ozarks raising quail. She's about got me ready to take the plunge and get some hatching eggs from her supplier as he has the ones I had been looking for. Big meaty birds.

They sure take up less space than chickens.

Says to bake cake 25 or 40 minutes. Quite a variance.

I noticed that. Must be a typo, 35 or 40 makes more sense.

I caught a wild adult diamond dove in my hands in Hawaii.

I held a hummingbird in my hands, not once but twice. One smacked into a window and stunned itself. The other buzzed into a storage shed and couldn't find a way out. It got exhausted pretty quickly and I was able to pick it up and carry it outside. When I opened my hands, it looked around to orient itself and then took off like a shot! It's like ... some kind of magic, holding a wild creature like that, even if just for a heartbeat.
