Granny's gone and done it again

Hanging in there. Kinda.

My freaking head is feeling tender today. Sigh.
needs to not be a hundred freaking degrees too.
Had ads from a local breeder - one that I was considering before I found Sandy - saying they had some pups - showing up on my Insta and Facebook.

My heart is just all over the place right now.

Got some work stuff done this morning. I’ll have to get more done tomorrow.

Battery in my car just absolutely flatlined itself and we’re not sure why. :/ found out when some friends of ours parents (who kinda adopted hubs in his youth) came to check in on us and they hadn’t seen my car so…go to show it off and doors won’t unlock…nothin.

Bright side is we did get an actually new battery for the car so should be under warranty if it doesn’t come back.

They may need to be pollinated. Take a little paint brush and gently "paint" the center of each blossom, so you transfer pollen from one blossom to another. I had to do that with my tomatoes last year. There aren't enough pollinators.
I use a piece of kleenex or paper towel rolled into a point. My tomatoes in the back weren't starting..so I did that and..pulled a couple of the yellow flowers off and rubbed them together. Plus I put a plant back there that the bees were loving in the front. Hadn't seen any bees. After I did this I started seeing tomatoes..and bees..so I'm not sure which got them going..my tricks or the bees, maybe both. :) My tomatoes in the front on the other hand!

I would think bees, mostly. But there is a shortage of bees.
Also those little white butterflies. Not sure you have them..but they can contribute to pollinating. I plant flowers by my front veggies. Should have in the back, but I think the pot of flowers put out helped.

Something something grief is like a ball in a box. As time goes on, the ball shrinks, and isn’t pressing against the walls of the box constantly, but something can happen to set it bouncing against the walls of the box again.
True!

For those having trouble pollinating tomatoes in the absence of a pollinator there are other methods available. Green house growers don't have bees but get tremendous yields. One way you can manually pollinate tomatoes is to give a gently but thorough shake to the plant and another is if you have a leaf blower stand back and you can shake the plants with one of those. Each tomato flower is self pollinating and that makes it easier than those cukes and squashes.

If the weather forecaster was hitting on at least 2 good cylinders today we may get some rain and on see an hour of above 90° temps. And if the rain in the forecast comes in it may not get about 89°. Rain over the weekend would be a real blessing. Need tender grass for the chickens. If they get enough grass maybe we get green eggs and ham.
