We have so many deer that they can be not only a nuisance but also a danger to autos traveling in the evening and night time. Some years back before I lived in AL there was a limit of one buck per day during the season.

Va has the highest rate of car vs deer accidents in the US. You have to be very alert at dusk or dawn, and night time. Some are not very wary.

Oh I understand the need for hunting to keep the numbers in check. Balance, that's the key. Most of DH's family hunt. I grew up in Denver so seeing them is still a novelty to me. In the mountains of Colorado there were vast herds of elk. It could be scary driving through those.

A high speed collision with a deer tears up a car and with an elk likely there could be bodily injury. Cows are the worst. The first loss of a classmate was a cow running loose on an interstate highway in a rainstorm not long after graduation from college and giving birth to a child for hubby to raise.

We do see plenty of dead deer on the highways around here. That's sad about your classmate.

We're expecting temps in the mid-80's the rest of the week, with lower humidity. Yay, we'll take it! Heats back up on Sunday, I believe.

We hit 101° today and that is the forecast for Saturday. Paybacks for those 3 15° nights back in February.
