Granny's gone and done it again

ABout once a month we drive to St Louis, about a 3-hr drive, to pick up our kid for a week of home leave from the academy he attends. He's a junior this year. I used to help with the driving, but The Man does pretty much all of it now. My days of cross-country or long distance driving are behind me, I think. I just get sleepy when I drive.

It takes me between 1 1/2 tp 2 hrs just to get to my pain clinic every 4 weeks. 45 mins to get to the dr. 30 to get to Roberts dr and it seems like one of us always has an appt. I guess I wouldnt change it though. I couldnt live in the city again. It would just break me.
This. Absolutely.

there is a certain peace that comes from living in the country. You dont smell your neighbors soup beans cooking all the time or the wild partys they have. The fights the next day. Nope just dont miss that.
Can't hear their radios blaring, babies crying, doors slamming, car engines revving or peeling out.... no sirens, no shooting! (I grew up in a big city.) Just ... quiet. Birds singing, frogs peeping, crickets chirping. Roosters crowing, hens bragging.
