E is called the carpal pad.

Maybe it's like dewclaws, some dogs have them and some don't. @h2oratt, @CapricornFarm ?

They do have them on their front..not the back. A few different breeds will have them on their front and back. My dogs have had them removed.

Not all dogs have carpal pads on their hind legs, but most do have them on their front legs. You can easily spot them if you know where to find them and what you are looking for.

Apparently, they help with braking and turning at high speeds.

Just like dew claws.

My GirlChild has covid. She went to the ER at 2:30 am with extreme back pain, chills and fever and headache.

Lots of loose dogs here. People just can’t afford them so they abandon them. Dog pound is full. Not sure how many they euthanize a day
