Granny's gone and done it again

I talked to Roberts dr today. He is putting him back on steroids again for 15 days. He will never get his sugar down at this rate. In other words he will have to live with his split tooth.
Ooh, I am sorry to hear that! Is it painful? Makes my toes curl to think of it. How do the steroids affect his sugars?

steroids raise his sugar. His tooth is painful but right now his guts hurt worse.

We have mushrooms grow in my back yard. Dogs don't touch them. My kids go mushroom picking up in the mountains.
I wish Pi could be trusted not to chew on them. He has eaten others in the yard. Hubs found yet another death cap yesterday. I haven't been out to look today.

I love Shelties too. The Papillon is a miniature Spaniel, and all dog. Water doesn't phase them. Sunny treed a bear once, all 7 pounds of her. She has killed and eaten rabbits. Yet very loving and smart. I wouldn't trade her for anything.
Researching breeds that make good companions for whippets (other than another whippet) and Papillions were on the short list. They sound like great dogs and zoom around with the bigger dogs no problem. You rarely see them here. I wish they had smooth coat variety, although Pi would love a fluffy friend.

It probably doesn't help, though, having the insulin spikes.
Will he be able to cope with the flare at home? No hospital, I hope.
he went into a flair a few weeks back and was treated with steroids. I imagine if this round of prednisone doesnt work he will end up in the er
