why do you call them lentils instead of beans and why are you reading labels?

Lentils are a tiny, round, flat legume, they are about 1/4" across (maybe smaller?) and cook very quickly, in about 30 to 45 minutes. The ones I cooked tonight are brown. Sometimes I cook red ones and I think they also come in a dark grey or blue color. The red ones are good cooked with curry and cumin type spices but I've never cooked the dark ones.

Reading labels bc my GC has non-celiac gluten intolerance and alpha-Gal allergy from a tick bite. Can't eat anything that comes from any mammal.

We got done after dark but we are done. Trellis project done and all the kids in a coop. Maybe not the right coop but in a coop. Need to water the peppers and eggplants in the morning after the kids are turned out to hunt for themselves. Got some good looking blackberries today too. Ma picked them while I beat the trellis stakes into the ground down the row. The sweet potatoes have just about formed a solid ground cover now. Early August they need to be dug. 100-110 days after planting. First time for this variety. Supposed to be a very good flavored one and uniform in size and shape. That's why I tried them. I thought I had order some white fleshed ones for chips but I thought wrong. Next year. Maybe.
