Granny's gone and done it again

Lucky looks like a sweetheart! Says they are open to a trade... maybe you could offer one of your "extras" and lower the price a bit. Do they have yak shows in ND? You are behind the times, Twist! Better get those babies tamed and learn them some manners, otherwise they will just do what Crazy Shelia taught them.

Nope pretty much the only show is in Denver in Jan of every year the same time frame as the Denver Stock Show. I know but I am hoping the bloodlines and looks will help a lot Either that or I am going to have to pull/seperate Wagoner then the other 3 should be pretty easy. The tamest yaks are the one's people bottle feed which means pulling them off momma and some how that just doesn't seem right to me.

So no chance of Shelia and Janet having late calves? They won't come into season in time for this year? When are the first ones expected?

they could as Porter was checking (lip curl thing) Janet this morning might also explain his being a little pissey this afternoon. BUT gestation is 8 1/2 to 9 months so that would be Dec/Jan of 2018 babies

So sweet Dreams, warm Fuzzies and prayers.

should be on in the am as I do have pics of the calves after I get the Package all put together and ready to mail to IYAK for the calves to be registered and then when they are I will start trying to sell them thru Yakz.com

OH and we did NOT get about freezing yesterday

Today upper 40's

Then the vet showed up almost 2 hours early,

pg's the 8 cows  and bangs Hailey  and total bill was only 155.00   Nice young vet

after we were all done I asked if he would be willing to do it again next year and he said sure NO PROBLEM  :yesss:

Everyone also got poured today except Porter  he got a little pissey when we ran all the girls thru the chute  and then instead of going thru a gate to re-join them he JUMPED a 4 or 4 1/2 foot sucker rod fence  and cleared it.

Woo! Congrats twist!

Porter must be one of those fancy jumping yaks

He's a cutie! I really like his color. Do you have room for 2 adult bulls? Not sure how long you've had porter ( long enough for him to father calves I know), but this new bull would give you color for sure!

TBH I always thought yaks were just brown. Do they have other colors like cattle too?
