Granny's gone and done it again

Reeed!

I swear you asked me something last night but I can't remember what.

And yay. Hubs found a temporary chicken Fort Knox for when we move. BRING IT COYOTES!!

It may not be meant for that but dangit. It'll do.

Hmm. Now to add a pic.

Oh yes I would love to see. I bet you can have a rooster at your new place.

I've got a bit of a conundrum right now. I agreed to buy all of the d'uccles that hatch from a gal who bought in eggs. She also set some of her own eggs in this hatch.

After a little while, she let me know that her own birds were sick with a respiratory issue. Now, the eggs are popping and she knows her birds at the least have ILT. This cannot be transmitted through eggs, but can be transmitted through infected birds, equipment, droppings, dander, feathers and people not practicing good biosecurity.

So, she obviously really wants me to buy these and I would love to buy them, but I don't want to take unnecessary risks...what do ya'll think? She doesn't intend to touch the chicks and wants me to pull them from the bator, myself.

Edit to add: She just got a call from the lab vet. They also have MS. So, I won't be taking the chicks as MS is transmitted via eggs.
