Granny's gone and done it again

How many of you have an emergency generator or inverter? And if you do, what make/model do you have. What fuel do you use. Pros and cons? There are so many on the market, it takes forever to decide. I'm looking at Mid size, not whole house
Don't think I answered this earlier. We have a 2000 watt inverter that came from harbor freight. It was just in case of a long outage when the incubators were running. Inverters run electronics. I'd like an 10-12 Kilowatt generator that could keep AC on that runs on propane as propane will not go bad like gasoline. Even with additive I think gasoline can go bad and if it is in the generator tank it could be a pita it drain it for fresh. It's not really cost effective to install a whole house instant power on if the power goes off. That would be nice to have if we lost power very much. It's never been off for very long here. Never fired up the inverter we have. May sell it and the incubators now that we have silkies to do the job.
