well either my taste buds are fried from smoking or I'm just not crazy about BBs To me they have no flavor.

Granny I have a first cousin that quit smoking and got is taste buds back. He was amazed at what he had been missing food wise. Ya know if you quit you may come to love BB's and cranberries.

Im hungry now. I would eat them if I had some. I used to have blackberrys I planted in the back and I would "taste test" them off the bush. One day I picked a bunch and brought them in. I gave them a good rinse and an ant came out. I soaked them thinking they would come out that way. Nothing. So I put them in a dry bowl and a ton came out.I was done with blackberries then

We have a thornless blackberry patch. You need to soak them in salty water as well as keep the ants killed off at the ground level. Instead of chocolate covered ants (I'm told they are a delicacy) you had blackberry coated ants. We do not have a bug problem with our domestic blackberries. I hope to get my patch up to a size where we produce a 100lbs or more for sugar free blackberry jam and a few gallons of blackberry medicine.

We have 5 peach trees now and 3 banana trees. If they survive this summer we also have 2 crab apple trees for making those little spice apples for desserts.

ya I did! Mine were also thornless. I bought 1 plant then needed to move it about 2 yrs later and when I dug it up I ended with 15 plants that produced that following yr.

I'm to tired or I would get out there now and put out another 50 lbs of pecan tree fertilizer for my mature trees. They should bloom this coming year. I see a nut once in awhile when tilling that a squirrel buried.

I read about some blackberries that were suppose to produce as much as about 30 lbs per plant. Mine died. The other thrived.

Yes. The ones that grow in snow do not have edible fruit. Mine should bear a full size banana. That is if I got what I paid for. I've been thinking about how to frame them in and make a clear protective cover for them in the winter. Easy to supply just enough heat to keep them from being froze back to ground level.
