Granny's gone and done it again

We translated the English to dutch.
I worked for 3 different Amish families when they had new babies and during busy summer times. I also worked for an Amish that owned a discount grocery store. They had three special needs children so I also worked in their home. I attended their Church, weddings and funerals.
His horse once got lame at our house and my brother hitched up our horse to their gray carriage and drove it to their home. He drove the scenic route to make sure the neighbors see him and gossip!! Our carriage was black. We had more similarities with them then differences.

I've been wrong before, might as well be wrong now.
What happened to get you so terrified of them?
I know. They squeak. They scurry. They move in startling ways. And they carry diseases. I am not terrified of them, but they will startle me into making a squeak myself sometimes!

Based on that I would have gotten along great with him!

So what happened to his horse? Did it stay with you till it got better?
