Granny's gone and done it again

Hair What GIF by Mane 'n Tail'n Tail
They lost again. They're now 3-6. Not too good.

We had rain here yesterday. Things were starting to firm up in time to turn into a quagmire again in the run.

AND! The township showed up with a huge load of crushed rock for the road. Here you can split the charge for anything they don't use on the road and they will dump it for you to use on your drive way. They said, nah, it's on us, we don't have any use for it around here and proceeded to dump the remaining 25 tons on the road and our lower drive way for us. We were giddy happy. DH went out with the tractor and spread gravel around. Even with him spreading the gravel around there is still a good 5-6 inches of gravel on the road and our lower drive way.

I thought I was dealing with a rat. Now I think I'm dealing with a weasel that's on the hunt for mice. I tried to catch it with my small hav a hart trap using a chicken breast but nope. It keeps trying to tunnel under the concrete pad the shed is sitting on and I keep sinking scrap metal and hardware cloth blocking off the holes. I think it has a den elsewhere and is on the hunt for mouse meat.

Lord knows I could use something to help me keep the mouse problem in check now that my guardian Blue Racer snake has gone into hibernation but I'm in fear of it getting into the coop and developing a taste for bantam. DH bought two bags of mortar mix concrete for me so I could start filling in the cracks on the floor. Plan to start on that tomorrow afternoon.

It's supposed to be dry here till Wednesday and for November the temps are pretty nice in the upper 50s during the day. It won't last so I'm enjoying it while I can.

@Cynthia12 I hope the real estate fairies smile down on you! I love that lawn in the picture.

what is your DH disability? Do you mind talking about it? And does your mom live with you? I'm very confused today.
He got Crohn's disease as a child. His first surgery was at 12. He cried.Back then the main medicine was steroids so he was on them for a long time. Having it as a growing child, it affected him in ways that no one can fully comprehend. He talks very little of his memory of being sick. But has mentioned having to carry his lunch to school since he couldn't eat the menu and he wanted his lunch in a paper bag so other kids wouldn't notice. He remembers being to tired to get up in the morning and his Mom opening the windows to cool him off. His report cards tell me he was a frightened little boy beginning in kindergarten through out his school years who could not adjust. Didn't want his teachers to touch him but didn't want them to leave him. He missed a lot of school. As a teen, it was difficult for him when his mom decided to get a job.It suggests to me he may have had sickness before school age but often times you blame it on 'nerves'. I had a lot of stomach aches when I was little that my Mom couldn't figure out.
Because of the medications, he has a wide range of health problems, physically & emotionally.
My Mother passed away in 2015. She survived a heart attack but after having a stent put in, she passed away at home.

DH got a large fish tank and everything that goes with it except for water and fish at Good Will for just a couple$$. I honestly wasn't thrilled because we don't have room! Maybe it will help him relax? Don't ask me what kind of livestock he will put in it but he is very excited. He got a lamp at Good Will full of beautiful shells to put in it. He unscrewed the bottom of the lamp to get them out.

Being an empathetic person by nature, it's hard for me not to see the emotional distress and how that has followed him as an adult.

I love that puppy stage!
I'm with Granny on this, too old and slow to housebreak and train a puppy any more! But GC is doing an amazing job with Ryder under my tutelage. I had to take her in hand a little bit recently, she was letting him get some bad habits bc she wasn't keeping him on leash. He was jumping up at her and biting at her hands and clothing, playing too rough with the cat, and starting to chase the chickens. I told her if she didn't get a handle on those things immediately I will re-home him. She's doing better. She just gets too casual and just puts up with the bad behavior because she's very tolerant. It's like the old adage, the nicest people have the worst kids.
