Granny's gone and done it again

The human body is truly wonderfully made and once man starts whittling away at it, it wont work like before. There is a reason why we have so many feet of intestines! We need it to get all our nutrition! But if it's diseased it does more harm than good.

God will never give us a bigger load to carry then he is willing to help us bear!

That bad tooth turned into 6 bad teeth so got us some more appointments. I'm not a cussing person but I wasn't very happy they didn't allow me to come back and help him make decisions when he asked for me. They told him they only allow family to come back if the patient is a child or an Alzheimer's patient. He said the dentist was very confusing.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Will get it figured out.
Time for a POA, farms? So they have to let you help make decisions? He may not have official Alz dx, but it does sound like he needs help making decisions and if his dentist does not respect that, either you need his dr's written note saying you need to be there to help him, or time for a new dentist. Sounds like malpractice to me and if it were me I'd be taking a lawyer in to have a little chat with the dentist.

I tried so many dentists and they all seem to be backed up. I was thinking of calling the insurance company tomorrow. Just can't push it off because I don't want an infection. He was at this office 2 years ago but had a different Dentist. That time they didn't want me coming back either but guess DH threw a fit.
Edit: I am POA. Just haven't had to show a paper yet. His Drs and insurance have me down as his caretaker

I just can't understand that. It seems too cruel.

Amen! And..
Why in the world won't they allow people in with family members?? Bronwyn has been in with me. My goodness.

Update on Sammy's e-collar training. Have been using it to keep him from chasing DH's car out of the driveway and up the road, bc we don't want him teaching GC's puppy that bad habit. That's going real well. He still stands and barks as DH starts the car, but as soon as the car backs out of the carport Sammy comes up to the house. (I watch from the window and if he chases, I get him!) Jenny was starting to engage in the chase game too, but now that Sammy's not doing it, neither is she. I think we're getting a handle on this now.

The other thing I'm working on is him just trotting up the road ... if GC or I, or both of us, walk the loop around the house, sometimes he'll just trot up the road on his own. He doesn't go far, just up to the mailbox, but.. I don't want him going up there by himself. A neighbor up there has dogs and sometimes they run out and engage with him. He just has no business going up there. We're still working on that and we are making some progress. The problem is that sometimes GC goes walking and does not always take the remote to the collar with her. So he gambles and has learned that sometimes he can get away with it. Consistency is key to any training program.

I called a dentist for Robert when he was just 5 or so. They were in the same building as his Dr. I asked before making the appt. if I would be allowed back with him and they assured me I would. I told them he was autistic at that time. They called him back and as I started to take him they blocked me! I said I was told I could go back and again said he was autistic , The dentist himself popped up in my face and said"We are only going to clean his teeth for Gods sake!" Well, I went off on him and said a few choice words and Robert popped his hip out, put his hand on his hip and said"Ya, and wheres me damm sucker?"The office ladies from his Dr. giggled and said "Come over here honey, you can have 2". Needless to say I found a dentist that asked me to please bring him back and after a while he got to where he would take off when his name was called w/o me. Their reason was the rooms were small back there. They didn't last long at that office either.

Good grief!
