I think the breed does matter. Certain dogs were bred for special jobs, and it's in their DNA. Nothing herds sheep as good as a border collie and retrievers will naturally return your dead duck unmauled. I might be able to teach Scooter a few of those things, but he will never be as good as either of those dogs at what they are bred to do. Scooter, however, would make an excellent circus dog!
