We got the new internet hooked up this morning. Man is it fast. I got to call Hughes net and terminate our internet with them. They asked me who we had our fiber optic with and when I told them I could almost imagine them saying #@!#@!@@! Chariton Valley, lost another one to them!

We are still working a few bugs out of the system like why it keeps knocking the computers off line but thinking a call to tech support tomorrow will probably fix the problem...that or my husband's internet geek soft ware buddy who eats sleeps and breathes computers when he isn't flying and crashing RC airplanes. Either way, paying half of what we were paying for the same service is pretty sweet.

Only thing that is vexing us is getting our printer to hook up to our computers. May have to run a wire under the floor to the router as we have never hooked it to wifi. It's the printer we had in the office to run off bills so it's a beast of a machine that was hard wired into the front office computer. I spent many a happy hour swearing at it so we are old friends/nemesis.

Either way, nothing we can't handle especially with the higher speed.

Even better, it got into the 40s today and they are calling for 51 tomorrow but.....3 below Sunday night. I'm starting to feel bad having to apologize to my chickens for the weather. Especially when they have managed to keep us in fresh eggs all winter.

@ShrekDawg, my sympathies about the tooth. If hot and cold bother you, have you tried something like Synsodyne (sic) toothpaste or any toothpaste for sensitive teeth? I have that problem and it's a game changer. Really helps.

Also have a problem with my nerves in my teeth. Unfortunately I've never had a root canal take and have always wound up having to have tooth pulled. One tooth they did a pulpectomy on, not a true root canal and it worked so like you I'm wary of the darned things.

I wish we could get fiber-optic cable out here, but ... if we ever did then that would mean it had gotten all crowded and citified around us, and heaven knows we don't want THAT. I'm real happy with StarLink, much faster and more reliable than Hughes (cough) but much cheaper, so ... I'll take it. Can you believe that over the years this house has accumulated five (I think) antennas, three on the roof and two cemented into the front yard, each time from companies claiming to be better, faster and cheaper? Why can't my roof just be the antenna? Lol.

Aggghhh! I just had one of those stinking ladybugs inside my pajama top and the only way to get rid of it was to grab it and now I have to go wash my hands. They STINK!
