We were considering star link but the cost !
Made us groan

Yeah, when we first heard about SL it was from a relative that said he paid, I think $700? for his. We groaned too! But a couple months later we hheard the cost was down to $500 so we deciddd to bite thd bullet bc our service (Hughes, cough) was just so bad, esp in the evenings. ... but then DH came home one day and said he'd signed us up for it and they were having a "special introductory offer" or some such, and we actually got it for only $200! (Did not mention this to the relative.)

Oh and I paid the "ransom" note to the county so I am good for another year.

I call it a ransom as if you don't pay them for 3 years "they" will take your property and sell if for back taxes. Over 63% of my taxes goes to public education.

I don't mind paying taxes. They keep our roads graded and in good repair and I have nothing against public education for the most part. I appreciate our public services.
