My dog is not allowed on the bed for a couple reasons. First, it is the cat's safe place. Second, she would stretch out and take up the whole king sized bed, and she is only 50 lbs.

I always had dogs on my bed, till I moved here ... to Missouri ... land of TICKS.

Yeah, that would be a problem. We are so lucky to be in an area that doesn't have ticks or fleas. We do have a lot of deer, but have never seen a tick on one of our animals. Interestingly, we have never had an issue with mites on our chickens either. IDK. Some people think it is the cedar trees.
