I think what makes memory problems difficult is when the person themselves don't see there dangers. It is easier to conquer new challenges and learn to do new things then to go the other direction.... Give up things you want to do. It takes strength both ways
It is a very hard place to be.

So true. I've seen changes in myself in the last years, both physical and mental. I've resigned from my position as church clerk because I'm just not sharp enough to do the job as it needs to be done. And I let my GC do most of my driving these days because of changes in my vision. I don't want to be that old person that refuses to give up her car keys, come hell or high water, and ends up killing or hurting somebody. I'm so grateful my granddaughter lives with us. It's definitely a symbiotic relationship that benefits everybody. I've been a care giver for many years. Now it's my turn to be on the receiving end. Circle of life!
