so I need some info on the care, feed requirements and such for Muscovy ducklings?? As I may be getting some in June. AND I can NOT find diddley with the new search and chit

I'll help you find your marbles twist.
Ducks were the worse mistake I've ever made...animal wise. And that's saying something since Ellie the poodle growling rabbit has been in 1st place for 10+years.

I haven't decided if I want to dive off into the shallow end or not. But the idea of them "rooting" thru the yak piles for bugs and spreading the poo around I LIKE and I don't think they need water like other ducks more like chickens.

Chickens will do exactly that too! Our barnyard flock loved digging around in the horse poop! Muscovies are supposed to be very good eating... beef like meat. And they fly well.

x2. Basic care is the same as chicks! They don't need anything but water deep enough to get their nares wet. They are VERY VERY messy in the brooder. And they take forever to feather out. But after that they're easy keepers. Mine love the farm more than the pond. They take care of themselves.

Boooooooooo

I would have ducks if I had the set up for them. Would need to build a fence, coop, and dig out a spot for the old stock tank... none of which I can do by myself right now and hubs already has too much to do.

My letter is C tonight... already had a carrot and cob o' corn. Chili dog next. Then I will sneak some broccoli when no one is looking.

***UPDATE****
A tornado touchdown has been confirmed on Madison's hilltop. So far, heavy damage has been spotted between Dawson Smith Road and Hutchinson Lane and areas East of Papermill Road along with structures on Clifty Drive. Power remains out to most of the hilltop. Authorities are assessing the damages and crews are on their way.
We will keep you posted on here, until we are able to get back on the air.
PLEASE do NOT go out "looking" for damages and such-police, first responders and power crews need to have clear access to areas that need assistance
