Granny's gone and done it again

That's good. Don't really know how much that will help at this point though. You really need to wash those oils off right away before they have a chance to penetrate your skin. Well, you'll know for if it happens again.

So where and how did you encounter this PI?
True! But that’s impossible because I encounter it walking Brewster when he goes into the wooded areas. And our walks take about half an hour twice a day. So can’t rinse IMMEDIATELY LOL but I guess I could shower when I get back. But that’s twice a day.

But at least the leash is cleaned off now. And I need to figure out how to clean my sneakers next. I step in it sometimes too. The Crocs are easy but not good for walking far. So I wear sneakers.

And I’m mostly showering to wash my face/neck and get rid of the crusties LOL

Sorry I haven't been able to check in today. Busy day here and I just said to myself that I HAD to get on line and tell @Granny Hatchet that I am going to be praying for her tomorrow. Hugs dear lady. Angels will be standing by you.

@BigBlueHen53 Suggestions? Not many. Granny needs to take care of herself first and foremost. I know she wants to take care of Tom but who is going to take care of Granny? Granny, you will not be able to lift, carry or do a lot of the things that you do now until you are sufficiently healed and then you will have to be careful for awhile. I hate to say that I agree with, I think it was @cynthia 12. That a nursing home might be your best idea. I know what you said about his mental health but what about you? What would happen if you were to go into a nursing home for a few weeks with him to recuperate? How would Robert make out? Are there people who would check in on him and make sure he and the critters were eating? I know the prospect isn't a pleasant one for you but it's going to be less pleasant if you wind up hurting yourself. This won't be a little boo boo. This could damage the work the doctor is going to do for you and if it does the outcome won't be so pleasant.

It's a shame you don't have a close relative that could come and stay with y'all. Or stay with Robert.

I'm afraid DH and I are in the same boat as you are. He's recuperating from his gall bladder surgery and I'm still recuperating from my shoulder surgery. We are stumbling along but it's tough and like you we don't have anybody to call on for help. So sometimes you just have to do what you have to do and choose what is easiest for you to do even if it isn't what you want.

Talk to the doctors, talk to the hospital's social service people. They work to help you get your little ducks in a row. As soon as you are able, ask to speak to them. They may have better ideas than any of us have.

I've spent most of the day working on the yard. DH and I did get out for a walk today. He's trying so hard to get his strength back but even mowing the yard with the big finishing mower wears him out. He's not used to feeling this way and I can sure sympathize. My energy levels aren't bad but my blasted shoulder is hurting again. I tried to get back to my exercises today and I'm hurting for it. I see the ortho on Tuesday and PT before I see him so I'm hoping somebody can come up with some solutions.

For now, I'm heading to bed. Sweet dreams all.

I just don't understand why you went to a ball game and ddn't go to the clinic first when you were feeling so lousy.
Because I figured it might distract me and take my mind off of it. Which it did. ALSO! They bought the tickets in advance and the PI didn’t show up till last night so I wasn’t about to tell them at the last second and make them eat the ticket cost. 3 other people already did that. Plus, I had never been to a Red Sox game or that park before so I wanted to experience it and I’m glad I did. I might never get to go back.

@ShrekDawg. PI Ick is all I can say. From my experience, yep, wash asap and a trick I learned decades ago, wash with the strongest soap you have in the house. detergent liquid, dish soap, etc. Be careful not to get any in your eyes but the stronger soaps will breakdown the oils.
Thanks!!!!!! I think I did read the dish soap thing so I’ll have to try that next time.
