Hi everyone. Meeting went very well lol
When I had my shoulder surgery..which was a massive undertaking as put by the surgeon and therapists..I just used ice for my pain the whole time. I don't do well with pain killers. That ice works. Heat is what my knee prefers.Yeah, it's a unique pain for sure. For me best described as slowly pulling a big scab off of your knee. Just makes you want to cry. After feeling great all day I went out to feed the chickens, reached up, can't even remember what I was reaching for, but I turned my hand and the pain on one side of my biceps where it was repaired was just searing. Didn't last long blessedly, I came in, grabbed an ice pack and immediately iced my shoulder down which helped a lot.
I've never been a big believer in ice as a pain controller but this surgery has turned me into one, at least for my shoulder. Maybe try it on your knee? That and or Voltarin cream.
Hope the knees settle down for you. We do pay a price for our dedication to the nursing arts. Bad knees, bad hips, bad backs, weaken shoulders and oh, don't forget, the ever underestimated 'nurse's bladder'. Like my parents urologist said to me once, 'I'd see a lot fewer nurses having problems with drippling if you would just learn to go pee when you have to'.
Yeah, like who has the time to do that on a busy shift?
Wait..are you thinking i was a nurse? Well close. I have a son with Spina Bifida. I did a lot for him that a new nurse didn't know how to like, catheterization of my son. So much more. I stayed many a night in the Children's Hospital with him.Yeah, it's a unique pain for sure. For me best described as slowly pulling a big scab off of your knee. Just makes you want to cry. That was off the top of my head, guess I should look it up. Salt too, probably. And vanilla
That's amazing!My car now has 6,044 miles on it. It's a 2020
SEE! What did we tell you? You spent three days sweating over it and it turned out to be a "nothing-burger!"Hi everyone. Meeting went very well lol
I've used a cane many times. Mostly when my sciatica acts up. A walker when my Vestibular problems are bad.Not too bad right now. Housekeeper was here. She made fried spam and pancakes. you?
Did you go down? Is it getting to be time for a cane or??? I hope you heal quickly
You too? New sticker? We only get the one year here.I'm good. Got plate renewal stickers for my car and DH's. Two years for mine this time, one for his. It was real crowded when I got there but about 8 people left (it was nearly lunch time) so I got in fairly quickly.

Wow, we're also in a drought. We got rain, YAY! First rain since July 26th. We needed it bad. Only .19 of an inch but the grass is looking a little greener. Hope we get some more.
Got to go out tomorrow and drop another dead tree. Really close to being done with the firewood harvest. Lots of obstacles this year but we almost gotterdun.
This is the first time I've reacted positively to ice over heat for joint pain. Don't know why. I think my surgery was pretty routine, except for getting the bicep surgery, tenodesis done at the same time. I think I've been having more pain from that than the rotator cuff repair but right now I think in general my pain is being caused by tendonitis and Bursitis...I can live without both of them thankyou. When I had my shoulder surgery..which was a massive undertaking as put by the surgeon and therapists..I just used ice for my pain the whole time. Why do I keep thinking you were a nurse. Because you are smart and sound like one? That's a compliment, girl.Wait..are you thinking i was a nurse? Well close. I have a son with Spina Bifida. I worked as a CNA for many years. Nursing home and Assisted Living Home. Love the old folks. Now I'm one.![]()
