Is the empty shell looking right to you ? I wonder if thats normal to be that dark ?   Thinking blood or bacteria ?

It just looks like hatch slime. The other two hatched with firm blobs of gunk. It was weird looking. This one hatched more like a gunky chick. Did I say it's navel is a little open? I need to put trip antibiotic on it.

DH just told me the duckling was crying all night. So it was ready but stuck. I guess that was my fault. Remind me next time to run a little oil on the membrane to keep it soft.

Sometime latter this week I need to get the main herd moved into the tit. As Deer season opens on Friday for 16 days. Then they can go back out into the big pasture.
