Granny's gone and done it again

When we were at my ortho dr today, an older woman, leaving the building alone, fell as she walked out the door. My DH saw her as he came in (he'd been parking the car) and ran in and alerted the desk that she needed help. Several people ran out to assist. She was on her hands and knees. A wheelchair was brought out and with effort she was lifted and placed in it. She looked very ill and almost unresponsive. I was worried she'd had a stroke. After several minutes she looked better, sat up, and was talking. My first thought was, why didn't my DH pick her up? But later I realized she needed a lot more help than one person could provide. I think he realized she was going unresponsive. I'm glad he came in and got help for her.

Question about the Corid. I mixed up two 2-gallon buckets for our birds this morning. Do we need to pitch all that they didn't drink and make new batches in the morning?
I leave the original water in there until I change it in the morning.

That look won't take no for an answer!
It's not fair! They are born knowing how to do that!

This is NOT my Jenny ... but it sure could be ... without the underbite, lol.

DIrect dose all? Sorry, I know we have to treat them all in their waterers. My question was not clear, I'm asking about syringe-dosing. Do I need to do this with all of them, or just the two poopy butts?

I leave the original water in there until I change it in the morning.
Well... but the water is outside and the birds are locked in the coop. They won't have access to any water [OVERNIGHT] until I make a fresh batch in the morning either way.

edit to add a clarifying word. Sorry, I'm tired...

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. So far, feeling nothing. She said it would take 2 or 3 days to kick in and start helping with the pain. It might be of note to point out that my pain levels are 3 to 5, not 8 to "off the charts," so I may not be getting as much medication as you and Granny did. She said nothing about rebound pain so, we'll see.

We medicated the water for all the chickens today and will continue to do so all this week, or until Friday anyway. Will direct dose the poopy ones tomorrow night. Long trip to Cape and back, too tired to do tonight.
My shoulder pain was about a 2 unless I tried to reach behind me for something and then it was like an 8. Like a lightning bolt going down my arm. Doc said it was another case of an inflamed nerve. With the rebound it went up to about a 5-6 then slowly diminished. Haven't had trouble with it since.

I agree with Granny. Fresh every day. Make sure and do the follow up treatment to get any remaining eggs. If you give the two with poopy butts boluses that should fix them up with the followup in their water. I think some breeds are just more prone to Coccidia.

Good man. Never a good idea to do much with a person who has fallen until you are certain they haven't sustained any broken bones/spinal/hip injuries in the fall. Poor lady. Found out that the surgeon who did my shoulder rebuild has left the area. Now who's going to rebuild my old bones when I mess them up?

I created a monster tonight. I was eating a chicken thigh and Pi was pestering Buck so I broke off a piece of meat and held it down to her. OH! That's good and if I set here and look cute mom will give me another bite and if she doesn't I can just jump up on her leg with my front feet and just about reach her plate.....I think I'm going to live to regret that one.
