Granny's gone and done it again

Her family wasn't too happy about it but I told them it was her dying instructions and I was going to follow them.

The couple that lived next door to me before I met DH had the husband's father living across the street from them in an apartment. he was in his 90s when he died and had done a prepaid plan on his funeral when he was a much younger man. When he died the funeral home told the family that they were in for a surprise. His investment had grown to the point that they could bury him in their top line casket with top of the line services and there was enough money left over that the family was going to be refunded a tidy sum. It was in the thousands of dollars. So it was sorta kinda like a life insurance policy in the end.
That's pretty awesome. :)

Wow, hard to believe it's been 5 years already since you lost your mom, I'm sorry. :hugs Also I thought you'd had Brew longer than that. Funny how that works. 🤷🏽‍♀️
IKR!?!?!?!?!?! In some ways, it feels like yesterday and others it feels like forever ago. Weird. Anyways, thanks!!!!!!!!!! And nope!!!!!!!!!! My dad actually told me about my mom’s fall and that he adopted me a dog in the same exact phone call. 🤣😭 and then we picked him up either the next day or a couple days later. I think a couple days later. Brew’s “gotcha date” is March 14th 2021 and his birthday is January 11th 2021. He was 9 weeks old when I got him. He is now 5. I celebrated his birthday back in January with a cake and everything. It is weird cause he does seem older but NOPE.

Hopefully they will give her antinflammatories and steroids to help alleviate the itching. Something to calm her down too.
Pretty sure she'll be getting some of that for her little belly area. Maybe it will work on that spot too. She had started itching onto the whiskers under her chin. I'm thinking having them shaved down during grooming is the culprit. Hopefully that will get better with time.

Funny story from Blue Acres. Melissa's been gathering eggs and the last week or so, only getting 8 or 9 a day. Way down from the 13 to 15 we were getting. A real puzzle. Well yesterday she didn't do it.. well no, she did, only real early. She got 9 about 1 in the afternoon bc she wanted non-refrigerated eggs to make egg salad. So when DH got home and saw that she was making dinner, he went out to gather eggs thinking she hadn't, because she normally does that about 4 p.m. Well he came in with SEVENTEEN EGGS! Apparently she's only been gathering from the nests and the hens have been laying in a big pile on the floor as well! :lau
Interestingly, this is the spot I saw Shadow encouraging one of the pullets to lay in over a month ago. I guess they're all getting the memo, or wanting to please the Flockmaster! :love

Nice of your Dad to get you Brew to comfort you after the loss of your Mom. :love
It really was!!!!!! I’m pretty sure he had had it in the works before she fell because, again, same call and I doubt he’d find a dog that fast, but maybe not. Maybe he really did. My mom would’ve wanted a say LOL so maybe it did happen after. 🤔 idk. Doesn’t matter. He still picked him up AFTER she fell and let me get him still. Which was nice.
