Granny's gone and done it again

been asking myself that a lot lately.
Because you can, and you love to watch them and care for them. It always made me feel happy to see the roosters feed the hens special morsels!

first pic is an almost mature (ready to harvest head) second the head is just getting going

After you cut the main head off if you leave the plant and it will from smaller side heads

can you do anything w/ the leaves ? Seems like a lot of plant for a little broccoli hu ? Pretty mature color. Like a steel blue.

I don't other then compost haven't tried feeding them to the chickens or yaks. The heads can get just as big as the store bought ones.

I had a chicken that happened to, she lost the bottom half of her leg and foot. She lived quite a while and healed up.

did she get an eye patch and maybe a humming bird to sit on her shoulder and cluck in pirate talk. :D

Being a full time caretaker is a very tough job. Kudos to all that are capable of doing that.
I took care of my aunt with Alzheimer's for 6 months. I would tell her, i am going to collect eggs. I will be right back. So ten minutes later i get to the house and she is outside in winter with no shoes or coat, door wide open and the dogs running lose. Talking to the mailman. The worst part was when she started talking non stop. Just nonsense and rambling, even strings of numbers if nothing else. All Day long, and even coming in my room at night. I called my parents and said you need to come get her. They kept her for a week ( mom was her sister) and she went to an Alzheimer's unit. My husband i lived with Mom for a year and by then neither of us could handle it. So for my sanity we took her to a facility and she has never complained. I is an wearing job especially if you suffer depression. I talked to one lady who lived with her Mom for like 20 years, God bless her.
