Granny's gone and done it again

I'm not sure if I should move them to the bigger part of the brooder or put them in the ugly tractor. They're not acting like they need heat. They like it, but the big bulb went out the other day so they just have the small one, and they seem fine.

there pretty young. whats your lows ?  Maybe they go under it at night ?

I'm sure they do. Lows have been in the 60s. It's getting cooler this week, though. Lows in the mid 40s. Guess I'll move them to the bigger part of the brooder til they get some feathers.

I would keep them with heat then. I am a little surprised you get that cold.

It IS November... We've been unseasonably warm. Our coldest weather is January-February. We'll get a couple of hard freezes in the 20s. Remember when my SS roo lost his comb to frostbite? Two years ago we had a heavy freeze burn the grapefruit tree, and only recovered this past spring. Last year I think we had 5 or 6 grapefruit total.

nope, never thought you had cold weather. LOL I dont have any waterproof anything. My boots leaked last year and the sole is peeling off my shoes.. Gonna be a cold feet winter for me.

for your fruit trees, If they have a frost on them and you get the hose and rinse it off Before the sun shines on it that saves the tree/bloom whatever.

That's awesome! We only have one, but I want to plant a grove.

In Fl. they will water the trees before the freeze and put a layer of ice on them to save them. We always just got up at but crack dawn and rinsed the frost off. I wish I had 1/10 of the know-how my GM did about the plants..
