Get some Easter dyes and mess with her! Brown eggs really are white eggs with a brown coating.


Yeah, it is cool. There are two colors of shells, either white or blue(ish). Then brown pigments get layered on over the base shell, and makes different colored eggs. Brown on white shells range from cream to terra cotta to chocolate colored depending on how much brown there is. If you check the inside of the shell, you can see it was white to start. Brown pigments layered on blue(ish) shells makes green to khaki to olive, but of course the inside of the shell is still blue(ish). With no extra pigments, the eggs come out in their base color, either white or blue(ish).


Congrats! You forgot the most important part... what color??
I was afraid i would end up with a white one but it is dark grey.
