Not this time. She has to have her hips xrayedat two years of age before she has a litter. Father won Best of Opposite Sex at West Minster show to the female that won Best in Show. We only plan to breed her once.

My man does not know it yet, but once this coop is done i plan to build the goat shed. It will be even bigger than my coop!

Wink, i am so happy you were able to sell some chickens. I always tried to sell new hatch chicks, better profit when not much feed involved! Hatched my own eggs. I sold a lot of chicks

I've used the hillbilly bators (styro coolers, VERY low tech ) and actually had decent results. I keep a couple of those cheap ones around, use them for grocery store trips. But if I ever DO get AC eggs, I'm not about to trust them to those! I've been squirreling away some pieces-parts. Much of it actually works in my grow room, so I had a good cover story/alternate use.

I used to get business cards printed up, passed them out to everyone. Posted ads at feed stores, on Craigslist and went to Swaps. Oh, and i had those magnetic signs on my truck as well. I sold a ton of rabbits and chickens.

I think I got lucky. I'm selling in between hatches that I've raised to an age they are still profitable for me, but not so small as to be still baby chicks. And I know my market. I used to be them, sort of. My mom certainly was. Not a lot of competition here for birds not chicks, but not POL. These ladies want pets they can imprint and spoil, not really layers. Pretty birds that look useful and rustic, give them Martha Stewart eggs, but are tough enough to avoid dying at the drop of a hat.
