Granny's gone and done it again

I have two cages that are 3ft. squared. Thats what Tom was cleaning. We are thinking about taking 2 sides off and turn it into one long cage. so 3x3x6ft. Put it in the barn and put the tolbunt in with the hen and maybe another polish. Sounds like it would be a nice cage but I just dont know. I would love a winter without cages. These hens are not even laying. Matter of fact I havent had any polish eggs in a while. 2 eggs today. whippie

Dh said he thought he told me happy bday this morning. He doesn t feel good but he is generally too inactive. Shortens yoir life to lay around all day.

was just thinking about the hen that died. She was acting shy? yesterday and I was holding her, checking her out. No mites, clear eyes, all seemed good. She was a little light. I gave her to CB and told him to put her in a cage and give her some wet mash thinking maybe she is getting pushed away from the food . When he took her from me I remembered there being more feathers in my lap then I thought normal. She ate very well so I told CB we would just take her out and feed her every day . When I went to gather eggs (where she died) there were many, many feathers.
So I wonder, Is that a clue to her death ?
